Egg Stealing Guide
- Step 1 — Find a Trench: Wyvern eggs spawn in the Wyvern Trench (Volcano biome). Each trench has nests with 1 egg. Fire, Lightning, and Poison eggs spawn in their respective zones.
- Step 2 — Scout with Fast Flyer: Use a Pteranodon or Griffin to scout. Wyverns aggro from extreme range near nests. Check egg level before grabbing — only worth stealing Lv150+.
- Step 3 — Grab and Run: Land near the egg, grab it, and immediately sprint away. Wyverns chase for ~2 minutes. Don't fight — your flyer can't tank multiple wyverns.
- Step 4 — Lose Aggro: Fly through dense forests or rock formations to break line of sight. Wyverns lose interest after losing visual for ~30 seconds.
- Step 5 — Incubation: Wyvern eggs need extreme heat (80-90°C / 176-194°F). Use 15+ standing torches or air conditioners in a sealed room.
Raising a Wyvern
- Incubation: ~4h 59min at optimal temperature.
- Baby Phase: ~9h 15min. Baby wyverns eat ONLY Wyvern Milk. No meat, no berries — milk or death.
- Wyvern Milk: Obtained by knocking out female wyverns (tranq arrows work) or killing Alpha Wyverns (drops 50 milk). Milk spoils in 30min — store in Preserving Bin with Sparkpowder.
- Juvenile Phase: ~28h. Once juvenile, wyvern eats raw meat. No more milk needed.
- Full Maturation: ~3d 20h 30min total from hatch to adult.
- Imprinting: 100% imprint gives +20% damage and +20% damage resistance. Imprint requests include Wyvern Milk, cuddles, and walks.
Combat Uses
- Alpha Hunting: Wyverns are the best Alpha predator hunters. Breath attacks outrange Alpha bite attacks — stay airborne and strafe.
- PvP Air Superiority: Lightning Wyvern is the PvP meta. Beam attack is hitscan — no leading required at any range.
- Siege Support: Poison Wyvern's breath bypasses armor and structures. Use to clear enemy turret towers.
- Taming Escort: Ice Wyvern's slowing breath makes it perfect for escorting slow tames through dangerous territory.
- Limitations: No saddle = no armor. Wyverns take full damage from all sources. Turrets shred them in PvP. Use hit-and-run tactics, never hover.
