Taming Strategy
- Location: Plesiosaurs spawn in deep ocean, often near underwater caves and trenches. Harder to find than Mosas, but taming is easier.
- Lure Method: Plesiosaur is curious — it will follow you at a distance. Use this to lure it into shallower water for easier taming.
- Tranq Method: ~90 tranq darts to head for Lv150. Easier knockout than Mosa but still requires SCUBA gear.
- Torpor: Moderate drain. 500-600 narcotics recommended. Check every 15 minutes.
- Escape Ability: Plesiosaur is fast. If it starts fleeing during taming, it can outswim you. Use a fast water mount or trap it.
Platform Saddle Uses
- Mobile Taming Base: Build a taming pen on the platform. Faster than Mosa — better for chasing and trapping other ocean creatures.
- Underwater Exploration: Faster cruising speed covers more ground. Ideal for deep sea crate hunting routes.
- Scout Platform: Speed + agility makes it the best ocean scout. Place a bed for respawn point while exploring deep ocean.
Combat & Uses
- Hit and Run: Plesiosaur excels at hit-and-run tactics. Bite → retreat → repeat. Faster than anything that can kill it.
- Deep Sea Crates: Fastest deep sea loot crate farmer. Can cover all spawn locations on the map in one oxygen tank.
- Limitations: Can't solo Alpha Mosas or Tusos without significant breeding. Lower HP pool than Mosa means less forgiveness for mistakes. Use speed to compensate.
